This Privacy Policy describes how SodokuDX ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by Adam Yonkolowitz, collects, uses, and shares information about users of our mobile app, website, and related services (the "Service"). This policy is designed to meet Google Play's data safety and privacy requirements. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: email address, display name, and authentication provider details when you create an account or sign in (including via Google sign-in).
  • Gameplay information: puzzle progress, saved games, scores, completion times, hints used, mistakes, and leaderboard entries.
  • Purchase and entitlement information: transaction identifiers, purchase receipts, and Pro subscription or lifetime entitlement status.
  • Device and technical information: device type, operating system version, app version, IP address, and basic crash or usage telemetry used to operate and improve the Service.
  • Settings and preferences: app settings such as theme, display options, and notification preferences stored locally or synced to your account.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its features.
  • To authenticate users, save progress across devices, and display leaderboards.
  • To process purchases, verify entitlements, and grant access to SodokuDX Pro features.
  • To monitor app health, diagnose crashes, and ensure the security of the Service.
  • To communicate with you about your account or support requests.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the following categories of service providers:

  • Authentication and backend services: our hosting, database, and authentication providers used to run the Service.
  • Payment processors: purchases are processed by Paddle or Google Play Billing, which collect payment details under their own privacy policies. We do not store your full payment card information.
  • Legal compliance: when required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights and safety.

4. Google Play Billing

In-app purchases on Android are processed by Google Play Billing. Google may collect and process information in accordance with its own privacy policy. We receive only the information needed to verify and grant your purchase or entitlement.

5. Data Security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on stored data. No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You can request account deletion at any time by contacting us using the information below.

7. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access, update, or delete your account information through the app's settings.
  • Request a copy of your personal data or ask us to delete it by contacting us.
  • Opt out of non-essential communications by adjusting your notification settings.

8. Children's Privacy

SodokuDX is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information as soon as possible. If you believe we may have information from a child under 13, please contact us.
