This Privacy Notice explains how SodokuDX, operated by Adam Yonkolowitz ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and protects your information. Adam Yonkolowitz is the data controller responsible for your personal data when you use SodokuDX.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account data: your email address and display name when you sign in (including via Google).
  • Gameplay data: puzzle progress, scores, hints used, and leaderboard entries.
  • Purchase data: entitlement records and transaction identifiers needed to grant SodokuDX Pro.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, and basic usage telemetry used to operate and secure the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information & Legal Basis

  • To provide and maintain the Service and your account — performance of a contract.
  • To grant and verify SodokuDX Pro entitlements — performance of a contract.
  • To display leaderboards and game statistics — legitimate interests in running the game.
  • To secure the Service and prevent fraud or abuse — legitimate interests and legal obligation.
  • To respond to support requests — legitimate interests.

3. Payments

Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes your payment details (such as card information and billing address) under its own privacy policy. 4. Data Sharing

We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients:

  • Merchant of Record (Paddle): for the sale of SodokuDX Pro, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
  • Service providers / subprocessors: our backend, database, authentication, and hosting providers used to run the Service.
  • Authorities: where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and save game progress. These are required for the Service to function. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your associated personal data.

7. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on stored data.

8. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict certain processing or withdraw consent.
